Dr. Kristen Lambert graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry and worked in private practice in Oregon and Washington.

Originally from the Chippewa Valley, Dr. Lambert completed her undergrad at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 2008.

Dr. Lambert offers individualized care to each of her patients and desires to find the right tools to make sure they can succeed.

“ I care deeply for my patients’ well being and happiness. I do my best to connect to each person and solve their eye-related issues while educating and giving everyone a reason to smile,” she says.

Her specialties include primary care optometry including contacts, glasses, InfantSEE exams, comprehensive vision exams, management of diabetes, glaucoma, and AMD.

Some hobbies of Dr. Lambert’s include hiking, camping, reading, volleyball, and traveling with her husband, Eric. You may also catch her quoting ‘The Princess Bride’ when you’re around her.

Dr. Lambert is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Indianhead Optometric Society.

Refractive Error

The eye acts like a camera with two focusing components – the cornea and the natural crystalline lens. Clear image viewing is dependent on the light bending properties of these structures.  The retina acts like the film of the camera, receiving the focused light rays. When light is ideally focused, an eye may see 20/20.  Conversely, when light rays are not optimally focused, images may appear blurry.  This is called a “refractive error.”  The eye can have one or a combination of refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism.

iStent : Size does matter

The iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass device has recently been released for the treatment of glaucoma. The iStent is the smallest FDA-approved medical device in existence! Smaller than the head of a pin, it is placed in the eye at the time of cataract surgery to help reduce eye pressure by enhancing fluid exit.
